Streetscape is an award-winning landscape gardening company with a difference. It is not just that their business and residential clients think they are outstanding, and give them 9.7/10 on a popular review website. Nor is it just that their skills have won them an impressive number of trophies, including honours at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.

Streetscape is unique because their apprenticeship scheme has a great track record for getting people 18-25 professionally skilled and into work they enjoy.

James Gubb, founder, explains: “Unemployment among young people remains very high, despite the economic recovery, which has a lasting impact on people’s lives, and costs society thousands of pounds each year.

“Sometimes all people need is a chance. Our apprenticeships are an opportunity for young people who want to learn the trade, get hands on experience, and kick-start their career.

“All of our graduates had either never worked or had very little work experience before Streetscape; two had previous convictions. To date, all our graduates have gone on to find employment; one is now leading his own site.”

Streetscape’s training emphasises the need for professionalism as well as landscaping skills, this means they are building a bank of happy customers happy to recommend them.

One endorsement said: “The company were a dream to work with. Great, friendly, professional team, both on-site, and off. We now have the garden we wanted. Fab!”

Why not see for yourself? Examples of their work can be seen at Myatts Fields, where they are based, and the much celebrated Van Gogh Walk in SW9.
