Community Risk Services (CRS) has been set up by Lambeth Council to help community groups get to grips with risk management and insurance. Launched with support from Lambeth Communications, it is thought CRS is the country’s first risk and insurance ‘spin out’ of its kind, and will help people in community groups and not for profits protect the groups they run.

Wondering how risk and insurance services can protect community groups? Watch the introductory CRS film we made here:

CRS will offer a range of services to help community groups better understand the types of risk they face, like fire, flood, crime, data breaches and reputational damage, and how those risks can be managed and mitigated by having the right plans and insurances in place. Any surplus it raises will be ploughed back into council services and community projects.

You can read more about how the new company was launched at a community enterprise in Clapham here.

If you know a council spin out that needs similar help, please get in touch. As commercially-minded local government communications specialists (we are a council-owned trading service ourselves), we can develop a marketing and communications solution and assets for council services who are in the process of spinning out.
